Storage Information

1. Access
All facilities offer different levels of access, usually depending on how your possessions are stored. In stacked crates for example, access can be difficult, awkward and expensive. At SWSS, we have individually locked steel units, all indoors and at ground level. Customers can back right up to the unit door for loading and unloading with no queuing or need for a trolley. Access hours are 0800 to 1800 Mon – Fri, 1000 to 1600 Sat. Access outside these hours is possible but only by prior arrangement and at the discretion of the management.

2. Humidity
Although all storage facilities suffer from humidity, some types suffer more than others. Heated or dehumidified warehouses suffer the least but are very expensive and access is usually a problem. Outside storage facilities suffer the most, being open to the elements. At SWSS, although our warehouse is neither heated nor dehumidified, being inside offers our customers a dry, low level of humidity at a fraction of the cost. We also offer all our customers dehumidifying strips that remove most of the remaining humidity from the unit and have had no problems or complaints since opening.

3. Security
As our units are designed to stand alone, being kept in an alarmed, locked warehouse offers double the security. Other security features are in place but are not listed here for obvious reasons.

4. Payments
Most storage facilities can require reservation fees, deposits, 2 months rental in advance, access fees, insurances, etc – your monthly bill could be a bit of a surprise. At SWSS, we only charge a monthly rental one week in advance. That’s it. Nothing else. No deposits, reservation fees, etc. We do not provide insurance and so all our customers are responsible for their own on all items stored. This is usually through temporary storage clauses in household/business policies already in place. It works out to be much cheaper (as little as £25 per annum) than taking on costly individual policies and are just as effective.

5. Contract Lengths
At SWSS, there is virtually no limit - we accept contracts from 1 week to 1 year as well as ongoing contracts (month on month). Where possible, we try our best to fit in with all our customers’ requirements.
